Flat Belt Conveyor
Flat Belt Conveyor
A flat belt conveyor is a type of material handling conveyor system that uses a flat belt made of various materials to transport goods, products, or materials from one point to another within a facility. The flat belt moves along a flat surface, typically supported by pulleys at each end, creating a continuous loop for the efficient movement of items. Flat belt conveyors are commonly used in industries such as manufacturing, distribution centers, airports, and food processing.
All kind of boxes or products that are of the granular or solid texture (uniform or irregular in shape) can be packed in this Machine.
Flat Belt Conveyor System Design for Food and FMCG Production Line Applications
A flat belt conveyor is the most widely used material transfer solution in food, FMCG, and light manufacturing packaging lines because it provides a stable, horizontal carrying surface that supports virtually any product format.
Fair Pack’s flat belt conveyor system uses a continuous PVC, rubber, or modular plastic belt driven by a geared motor through a head pulley.
The belt conveyor surface can be specified as smooth for regular-geometry products like cartons and bottles, or with a textured anti-slip finish for pouches that tend to slide on smooth belts during conveyor starts and stops.
For food production line conveyor system applications, the flat conveyor belt material is selected to meet food safety requirements including FDA 21 CFR or EC 1935/2004 compliance, and the frame is manufactured from 304 stainless steel with rounded edges and no horizontal flat surfaces that could accumulate product residue.
The material belt conveyor is designed with a quick-release belt tensioning system allowing belt replacement without removing the head or tail pulley assemblies, reducing maintenance downtime to under 30 minutes for a full belt change on a standard conveyor length.
Automated Flat Conveyor Belt Integration with Checkweighers, Date Coders, and Metal Detectors
The flat belt conveyor in a modern packaging line is the structural backbone on which inline quality control equipment is mounted and through which finished packs pass for inspection before reaching secondary packaging.
Fair Pack designs its flat belt conveyor system with pre-engineered mounting interfaces for inline checkweighers, inkjet and thermal transfer date coders, vision inspection systems, and metal detectors, so these devices can be integrated without bespoke mounting fabrication at the installation site.
An industrial belt conveyor system configured for checkweigher integration uses a short isolation conveyor section immediately upstream of the checkweigher to ensure that each pack arrives at the weigh platform individually and at consistent spacing.
The automated flat conveyor belt from Fair Pack is also available with variable speed drive control that allows line speed to be adjusted from the HMI, enabling operators to slow the line during product changeover or speed it up during peak throughput periods.
As a conveyor flat belt manufacturer India, Fair Pack provides belt conveyors from 300 mm to 1,200 mm in belt width and from 1 metre to 20 metres in conveyor length, with single-piece or multi-section flat belt conveyors that can be disassembled for relocation when a factory’s line layout changes.
