Z - Conveyor
Z - Conveyor Machine
A Z-conveyor, also known as a Z-shaped conveyor or a Z-belt conveyor, is a type of vertical or inclined conveyor system that is shaped like the letter “Z.” It is commonly used in industrial settings to transport products or materials between different elevations or levels within a production line or processing facility. The unique Z-shaped design allows the conveyor to change direction both vertically and horizontally, making it useful for navigating through limited space or around obstacles.
All kind of products that are of the granular or solid texture (uniform or irregular in shape) can be conveyed through this Machine. Products such as – Chips, Dhal, Rice, Sugar, Kurkure and other Namkeen, Traditional snacks such as mixture, boondhi, and much more.
Z Type Conveyor: Achieving Multi-Level Product Transfer in a Minimal Floor Footprint
A z conveyor, also known as a z type conveyor or z belt conveyor, combines three conveyor sections in a single structure: a horizontal infeed section at the lower level, an inclined or near-vertical transfer section that elevates the product, and a horizontal discharge section at the upper level.
The name comes from the shape of the product path when viewed from the side, which resembles the letter Z.
This compact vertical conveyor design is the standard solution when a production line must transfer products from a lower process to a higher one within a very limited horizontal distance, where a standard inclined conveyor belt would require a floor run too long to fit within the factory layout.
Fair Pack’s z-conveyor uses cleated belts on the inclined section to carry small items, pouches, sachets, and granular products in bulk without sliding backward, with the cleat height and spacing optimised for the product being conveyed.
The z belt conveyor is available in food-grade construction with stainless steel frame and food-safe belt materials for applications where loose granular products are in open contact with the conveyor surface.
Material Handling Z Conveyor India: Integration with Filling Machines and Packing Lines
The z conveyor system from Fair Pack is widely used in Indian food, pharmaceutical, and FMCG packaging plants as the standard solution for feeding overhead filling machines from ground-level bulk bags, bins, or mixing vessels.
When a multihead weigher or collar-type packing machine is installed at a height of 2 to 4 metres above the production floor, a z type conveyor is typically the most space-efficient and cost-effective way to supply material continuously.
The z-conveyor integrates with the filling machine’s hopper level sensor through a start-stop control circuit, running when the hopper level falls below a set point and stopping when the hopper is full, keeping conveyor cycle time low and preventing product degradation from running unnecessarily.
Fair Pack’s material handling z conveyor India installations are configured to match the output rate of the filling machine, with belt speed and cleat volume calculated to deliver material faster than the machine consumes it to ensure the hopper never runs empty during a production run.
The compact vertical conveyor design of the z conveyor system makes it a practical choice for plants where floor space is at a premium and a dedicated bucket elevator footprint is not justified.
