Bucket Conveyor
Bucket Conveyor
A bucket conveyor, also known as a bucket elevator, is a type of vertical conveyor system designed to move bulk materials, such as grains, seeds, powders, and other granular or powdered materials, vertically between different levels or heights within a processing or production facility. It consists of a series of buckets attached to a chain or belt, which effectively lifts and transports the materials in a continuous loop.
All kind of products that are of the granular or solid texture (uniform or irregular in shape) can be conveyed through this Machine. Products such as – Chips, Dhal, Rice, Sugar, Kurkure and other Namkeen, Traditional snacks such as mixture, boondhi, and much more.
How a Bucket Elevator Conveyor Moves Bulk Material Vertically on Packaging Lines
A bucket conveyor uses a series of open cups mounted on a continuous belt or chain to lift bulk materials from a lower infeed point to an elevated discharge point, covering vertical elevation distances that flat belt conveyors cannot achieve practically within a confined plant footprint.
The vertical bucket conveyor from Fair Pack is used primarily to transfer granular products, powders, and small packaged items from ground-level storage up to the infeed hopper of overhead filling machines, the standard physical configuration for VFFS, auger filler, and multihead weigher installations.
As an elevator bucket conveyor, it handles materials gently by filling each bucket only partially, which is important for fragile products like puffed snacks, tablet capsules, and seed blends that would break in a screw conveyor or inclined belt.
The bucket conveyor system from Fair Pack is available in carbon steel for dry industrial materials and in 304 grade stainless steel for food and pharmaceutical contact applications, with food-grade belt materials and smooth interior surfaces complying with FSSAI hygiene standards, making it a complete bulk material handling conveyor solution for clean production environments.
Industrial Bucket Elevator System: Sizing and Integration for High-Throughput Packaging Plants
Selecting the right industrial bucket elevator system for a packaging plant requires matching bucket volume, belt speed, and bucket pitch to the required mass flow rate at the specified bulk density.
Fair Pack’s bulk material handling conveyor engineering team calculates the required bucket volume and belt speed for each application from the customer’s material properties and target throughput.
For a packaging line where the filling machine consumes material at 500 kilograms per hour, the bucket conveyor manufacturers India team at Fair Pack sizes the conveyor to deliver 600 to 650 kilograms per hour to provide a headroom buffer that prevents the filling machine hopper from running empty during demand peaks.
Vertical material handling equipment installations at Fair Pack customer sites range from compact single-bucket-width conveyors for laboratory lines to dual-strand heavy-duty systems for large food processing plants handling rice, grain, and bulk dry ingredients.
The bucket elevator conveyor is designed with a clean-out access door at the boot section and a removable head section cover for inspection and belt tensioning without tools, making routine maintenance of the bucket conveyor system straightforward for plant maintenance teams.
