About Volumetric Packing Machine

A volumetric packing machine is a type of packaging equipment used to fill products based on volume rather than weight. It measures and dispenses a predetermined volume of the product into containers, such as bottles, jars, or pouches. Volumetric packing machines are commonly used for filling liquids, pastes, and other flowable products.

Volumetric Filling Machine Accuracy: When Cup-Based Dosing Meets Production Requirements

A volumetric packing machine measures each fill by the physical volume of a calibrated cup rather than by load cell weight reading, which makes it faster and mechanically simpler than gravimetric alternatives but requires that the product’s bulk density remains stable between batches.

For producers of sugar, salt, lentils, and dried herbs, bulk density variation is low enough that a volumetric filling machine consistently delivers fill accuracy within plus or minus two to three percent, satisfying packaged commodities rules for minimum fill weight in Indian consumer goods markets.

The cup filler machine design from Fair Pack uses hardened stainless steel cups with a precision scraper bar that levels each cup to the exact brim volume at every cycle.

When product density variation is a concern, Fair Pack offers the automatic volumetric packaging machine with an optional check weigher integration that samples packs at a defined frequency and feeds back a correction signal, creating a semi-closed-loop volumetric weighing machine that corrects for density drift automatically.

The volumetric filler for powders and granules is therefore suitable for both consistent dry products and borderline-variable bulk solids.

An automatic volumetric packaging machine achieves its full productivity potential only when it is part of a well-designed volumetric filling line where material supply, machine speed, and downstream handling are matched.

Fair Pack supplies its volumetric packing machine as the central filling station in a fully automatic packing systems line that includes a Z conveyor or screw conveyor for bulk material supply to the overhead hopper, a vibratory pre-feeder to regulate material flow, the packing machine forming and filling pouches, and a date coder and metal detector in the discharge section.

When production requirements exceed a single machine’s capacity, the volumetric filler for powders and granules can be duplicated in a twin-lane configuration on the same frame, doubling output without proportionally increasing floor space.
